November 23, 2013-- at our wedding!

We are the newlyweds! ;-) We celebrate this beautiful covenant of marriage November 23rd. Biblical marriage calls us to a fulfilling and balanced relationship that should parallel the marriage between Christ and the church. We give to one another what the other needs by nature. Husbands are to lead and love their wives as Christ leads and loves the church. Wives are to submit to and respect their hubsands because they trust their man to care for their good and the good of the family. We love the peace and joy in a Biblical marriage, and we appreciate both of our vital roles/responsibilities in the family relationship.

March 4, 2015- the birth of our daughter!

We welcomed our first child, a beautiful baby girl named Abigail Naomi, into the world March 4, 2015. She was born peacefully at home in the water at 6:10pm- just as Purim was beginning. At birth, she weighed 9lbs 8oz and was 20.5 inches long. She is certainly the joy of our hearts and such a blessing to our little family. 

Lifestyle

Our blog is basically about this new life we are starting together and the learning that will inevitably occur. We believe in a balanced life; therefore, we try to avoid extremes. We value wholesome and nourishing foods, nature, movement, reflection, and devotion to God (which is incorporated in everything we do). Simplicity, in the sense that we are not consumed by the need for instant gratification or shiny new everything, is of such worth to us. We value quality of life over quanity of... anything, really-- food, money, technology, even time (whether it's too rushed or too idle). We are so grateful for the Lord's new mercies each day, and so we truly value the days we are given.
